My Go-to Stores & Restaurants

The biggest complaint I hear from people when it comes to eating healthy is that it's expensive! I don't necessarily disagree with that observation when it comes to eating out. However, I don't find it surprising that salads are usually around $5 or more and someone can walk into Burger King and get a whole meal for the same price. It's pretty much a no brainier that fast food restaurants price this way to keep you coming back. Of course in the grand scheme of things it's not wise to give into the $5 meal marketing ploy. This is why I'm a firm advocate of eating at home and cooking my own meals, however, it IS nice to get out sometimes and experience new restaurants and the city in general.
With that said, I'll introduce you to my go-to restaurants when I'm out and about and overcome with hunger.
Ezra's Enlightened Cafe in Broadripple is hands down a favorite. Crystal and I are usually here post workout on Saturday's at least twice a month. As you can see I was caught off guard with a picture before enjoying the Rosemary sweet potato bowl and Crystal swears by the Nacho mama's bean bowl (which I have had and is also delicious). A great thing about this place is it's all vegan and gluten free.

Some of my other favorite restaurants are Ichiban, which like a hole in the wall sushi joint off of Bash Street in Castelton. Shalamar (Indian food in Broadripple), Sobro Cafe In Broadripple has a mean buffalo tempeh over quinoa dish and last but no least, Three Carrots in Market Square, it's all vegan and the seitan Banh Mi sandwich is to die for.
My go- to stores:
Trader Joe's is low prices, there's plenty of items I get from here but they're the only place to find some tasty dolmas. Costco, for bulk foods for veggies, fruits and whole grains, Whole Foods deli has some great items to grab and go and Meijer has great 10 for 10 deals quiet often.
As you may already know I do offer a service where I will assist you with grocery shopping, teaching you how to read labels and navigate to some great stores with great prices.
